Cybersecurity is an expansive and complex are and its scope extends well beyond research. For purposes of research security, the following resources are helpful starting points.

Restricted Research and Government-Sponsored Projects
Some government-sponsored projects may include requirements that restrict publication or dissemination of results; limit participation based on citizenship, nationality, residency, or other eligibility criteria; require the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) or implementation of cybersecurity or information-security controls; restrict access to data, systems, materials, or facilities; or raise export-control or sanctions considerations. These requirements can affect whether and how UCSF may accept, structure, and perform the proposed work. Early review is important, particularly for projects involving federal agencies, national security-related research, restricted data or technology, or nonstandard contract terms.
