UCSF Ethics, Compliance and Audit Executive Committee
Charter
The Ethics, Compliance and Audit Executive Committee (Executive Committee) provides oversight of the UCSF Ethics, Compliance and Audit programs. The Executive Committee enables accessibility to the Chancellor, escalates risks, and provides a problem-solving group to address ethics, compliance and audit concerns at the highest level. It advises management on key risks that could affect UCSF’s ability to achieve its mission, ensures that management has adequate support and resources for the implementation of effective ethics, compliance and audit programs, sets the tone from the top and assists management in developing a strong risk management and compliance culture at all levels.
The Executive Committee comprises senior leaders appointed by the Chancellor, and has oversight responsibilities that include:
- review, consider and advise on UCSF’s significant risk exposures and management steps to monitor, control and mitigate such exposures;
- monitor, assess and advise on progress of key risks, and audit & advisory and ethics & compliance management projects;
- evaluate the adequacy of resources for the ethics, compliance and audit programs, ensure adequate assignment of oversight responsibility and appropriate delegations of authority;
- advise management on evolving policies and procedures, training programs and monitoring activities;
- advise on acceptable and effective enforcement mechanisms; and
- review and provide input into the annual Audit & Advisory Services and Compliance Work Plans.
